CLIENT: Multi-Turn was approached by the client to produce a staircase that would complement the high spec interior of this large house that was being built into the side of a hill in Guildford.
PROJECT BRIEF
The owners wanted a modern and simplistic solid oak staircase that made a statement, reflecting the bold character of the interior in the rest of the home.
We needed to carry out a site survey to complete sizing measurements before our design team could hold discussions with the architect to produce a concept that would fit the home perfectly.
OUR SOLUTION
In keeping with the client's vision for statement features, we produced nosing projections at 90mm thick to give the appearance of a bulkier tread. We also developed a bespoke design for the winders in such a way that newel posts weren't required at the point where the stairs turn, giving a sleek finish as they wrap around the center wall.
The oak staircase was delivered on time, in full and installation was completed with the addition of spot lighting above the string.
