CLIENT: AJC Group
The AJC Group embarked on a new build project at Dorchester Brewery, envisioning 30 houses with 2 flights per house.
Their goal was to install softwood stairs with oak handrails and caps, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal to the residences
During the initial site visit, it became apparent that the well opening on the second floor was too short for the intended stair layout. This posed a significant challenge as it jeopardised compliance with regulations and safety standards.
The AJC Group, realising the importance of addressing this issue promptly, collaborated with the architect and sought a viable solution.
Multi-Turn stepped in to provide expertise and support. Recognising the criticality of the situation, we conducted a thorough site survey, identifying the headroom problem and its potential impact on the project. Leveraging our experience and technical knowledge, we proposed an alternative design that would ensure sufficient headroom, thereby meeting regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the architect, we devised a plan to modify the stair layout, accommodating the necessary adjustments without compromising on quality or safety. By swiftly addressing the challenge and offering a practical solution, we helped the AJC Group mitigate risks and ensure compliance with building standards.
Our proactive approach, coupled with our ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently, proved invaluable in overcoming obstacles and keeping the project on track. By conducting a comprehensive site survey and addressing the headroom problem early on, we saved the client time and resources while ensuring that the stair installation met all necessary requirements.
